(small Town North west of Newcastle)
Scone is about 170 Klms (around 105 Miles Inland from the Ocean, amongst The Giant Open cut Coal Mines, Vineyards etc)
1903-2003 is a 100 years of aviation in Australia. 14 Cars from Newcastle Cruzers set out to check out some restored & original
Ex-Military Aircraft ,that flew in for the weekend. Most of these Aircraft are Privately owned by Aussies,Some are in Original Condition , others have been Painstakingly restored ( Like our American Cars ). A mixture of Antique, WW.1 + WW2 along with
some Korean War old Warbirds on display. One Local Scone identity.. " Col Pay " until recently was the Proud owner of three
Prized Warbirds Restored in his Local Hanger. A Mustang P-51....A Spitfire Mk. 111. and a Kittyhawk...P40 !!!!!
If you missed this Great day out, you will have to wait till the Next " WARBIRD DAY " in 2005 ( Held every 2 years in Scone )
